This week we’ve been very inspired by one particular garden that showcased at the Chelsea Flower Show. ‘Places of Change’ was developed and created by five hundred people affected by homelessness in collaboration with the Eden Project and agencies and charities dealing with homelessness. It featured some fantastic ideas for recyling including a greenhouse made out of plastic water bottles and mulches made of old clothes.
Particularly ingenious was the planter made out of recycled washing machine parts.
The ethos behind the whole project was very inspiring. It is all about participation and the ideas and work of the people involved in the project. The aims are to give people opportunities for learning future life skills and give them a sense of inclusion in society.
